But there I was, standing in my living room with the shiny new toy in hand, witnessing Buster’s sparkling eyes slowly dim. I bought it for the noblest of reasons—peace and quiet during our at-home movie nights. Wasn’t I entitled to watch a drama thriller without intermittent squeaking echoing in the background? As I held out the toy for Buster, I explained my reasoning. How I longed for just one movie night sans the chorus of squeaks. I swear he understood. The look in his eyes was not of confusion—it was a look of… disappointment? Disbelief? Dare I say betrayal?

With a defeated sigh, I recoiled to my safe haven—my bed—and surrendered my spirit to slumber.
