Owner’s Perspective
Three simple words: ‘Lost the frisbee.’ It was a sunny afternoon; the perfect day for a trip to the park. Max, my golden retriever, had been captivating me with his ever so hopeful, “Give me Frisbee eyes” (you know the ones), and so, succumbing to the raw power of canine cuteness, off we went.

Max’s dear frisbee was not just any ordinary piece of curved plastic. It was his pride, joy, and the one thing that could make his tail wag faster than his favorite Stella & Chewy’s freeze-dried dinner. Max fetched it like a champion, racing across the wide-open field, eyes on the prize every time (yes, even when a curious squirrel ran by).

But the universe was playing a cruel trick that day. A sudden gust of wind swept the frisbee from my novice throw into the shrubbery. Despite our thorough search (and trust me, we looked), the frisbee was lost. His disappointment was palpable. Max’s usual vibrant eyes were cast downward, his tail motionless. In my defense, I had promised him a great day out at the park, not a missing frisbee conundrum.

Max’s Lamentation
Saturday. PARK DAY. Frisbee day. The day I, MAX, am UNSTOPPABLE. Eyes on the target. Legs ready. It’s all about the timing. Everything was PERFECT.

I SAW it. Like always, it flew across the sky – the bright red of my FRISBEE against the blue sky. But then… DISASTER. The wind BLEW. The Frisbee SWERVED. It went into the SHRUBBERY.

No amount of sniffing, digging or running could find it. MY FRISBEE. LOST. This wasn’t supposed to happen. Wasn’t I a good boy? Didn’t good boys deserve frisbees? Were all those treats for nothing?

It was a quiet walk home. No wagging tail, no victorious trot with the frisbee. That’s when it hit. The SILENCE. And a leash without a frisbee clip.

The Frisbee Revival
Max’s disappointment was almost tangible, and the house seemed emptier without the presence of his bountiful energy. The silence was deafening, the reproachful glances heartbreaking. As Max dolefully dropped his leash at the doorstep, I realized I had no choice. I had to fix this. I grabbed my phone and quickly navigated to The Hungry Puppy’s site.

An express delivery order was placed specifically for Max’s beloved Kong Flyer Frisbee. It wasn’t an exact replication of his lost love, but I hoped it would do the trick. Its durable rubber and beautiful black color seemed the perfect fit for my melancholic retriever.

And boy, did it work. The moment Max saw the delivery guy with that familiar shaped package he jumped up. His eyes brightened, and his tail began wagging at a speed matching the dinner-time frenzy. I opened the package and Max caught his first glimpse of the new frisbee. His new friend. His tail became a windmill providing electricity to a small city.

He gave me a long look then, with the new frisbee between his jaws, the usual light back in his eyes. It was a look of deep forgiveness, and, dare I say, a hint of gratitude.

Crisis averted. Frisbee replaced. Dog no longer hates me (and I’ve upgraded to non-lost frisbee status).
